SkipLink™ Wireless IP Emulation Software
<<Core to Global Protocols technical disciplines is wireless network emulation testing. Prior to each SkipWare release, our software is subjected to a rigorous battery of performance tests, emulating our end users' real-life operational and environmental conditions. Discouraged by the absence of high-fidelity wireless and satellite emulation software in our industry, Global Protocols engineers took the initiative to build the SkipLink™ network simulation software package.
SkipLink is a software-based emulation product that simulates error, latency and the queuing behaviors common in modern networking. SkipLink includes:
- Router or bridge modes
- SCPC, FDMA and TDMA bandwidth allocation behaviors
- Two Independently-configurable WAN links
- Configurable round trip time (RTT)
- Configurable queue settings with taildrop, RED, or ECN
- Configurable MSS/MTU sizes
- WAN rates up to 155 Mpbs
- Error models and packet reorder (.1%-10%)
- Command line user interface
- Automated test scripts
- Packet capture diagnostic tool and stats display
- SCPS accept/reject toggle for testing SCPS and non-SCPS interoperability
Global Protocols is pleased to make this software available to the wireless user community as a freeware software package. We hope that this freeware distribution will improve the community's emulation testing and QA processes, and we encourage questions, suggestions and other feedback that might add to the quality of the software. Skiplink can be FTP downloaded by going here.
